I know, I know, it's been a *really* long time since I've updated. I hang my head in shame.
I can only say that my day job teaching forensic biology and my other semi-professional hobby of community theatre have been incredibly consuming, and although I've made a showing at this year's Azalea Festival (Wilmington, NC) and Fun 4th Festival (Greensboro, NC), I haven't managed to keep on top of the website.
But I haven't stopped taking photos! In fact, I have about 600 from my most recent overseas excursion to Moscow and St Petersburg that are in dire need of sorting and editing. I've become thoroughly addicted to traveling. My next planned trip is a guided tour through England, Scotland, and Wales in August 2016.
And speaking of traveling, in less than a week I'll be hauling my gear to Virginia Beach for the 42nd Annual Neptune Festival. I'm happy to have been invited back for my third year running.
This year there's an exciting new addition to the festival. From the website: "We will devote an area of the boardwalk to selected exhibitors who display work with the highest degree of originality, handcrafting and excellence." It's a juried section, and there are going to be prizes awarded. And I'm in it!
Also new for me this year: for the first time since I started selling my photography, I am officially doing numbered, limited edition runs. Everything I bring to the Neptune Festival will be printed no more than twenty times, and then I will retire the image for good. It's a little intimidating to make the decision to retire some of my work, but it's also good incentive to keep doing more!
