Tomorrow I'll be at another festival that's fairly close to home - the West End ARTSfest. As usual I feel like I have a million things to do before I head out in the morning. I can't wait until I'm actually setting up in the park tomorrow because at least then I can stop stressing about preparations!
I'm still getting the hang of this festival thing. Before I applied to my first event last year, I combed the web for tips on being a vendor. I remember reading a post by someone who said that it's absolutely necessary to have a dedicated vehicle for hauling your tent, wares, and all the accessories that go with them. I thought, "Ha, I'll never have that much stuff!" How naive I was... A year later here I am wheedling keys from family members who own significantly larger vehicles than my own car, which would never fit a seven-foot tent frame much less my tables, bins of framed prints, etc.
In two weeks I'll be hauling my stuff up to the boardwalk in Virginia Beach for the Neptune Festival, which is probably the last event I'll do this fall. I'm feeling a little intimidated by it, but so far the coordinators have been excellent with communicating and getting information out. Anyway, however I do in Virginia, it'll have been a good excuse to go to the beach - right?
