Welcome!
If you have a passion for nature and art, you've come to the right place. To start looking at photographs right away, use the navigation pane to the left and browse the catalog. You can also get to know me a bit by reading my bio below and by visiting my blog.
As you'll see on this site, I specialize in nature photography. I particularly enjoy macro work and have found inspiration in the vivid paintings of Georgia O’Keefe. I'm not a talented painter but thankfully mother nature has already prepared a beautiful canvas for photographers to sample. When I take photographs I seek to capture the natural world's dynamic interplay of light, color, and movement.
North Carolina has always been my home and many of my photographs are of local flora and fauna. Nearly all of my beach photos were taken at Holden Beach, which is on the North Carolina coast about halfway between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. I have also had the pleasure of traveling and living abroad, and since my camera is always at hand you'll find things like Irish landscapes and the foothills of the Alps in my repertoire as well.
Although my photography is done with a digital camera, I do very minimal post-editing. The manipulations I perform in Photoshop are limited to cropping, rotating, resizing, applying a black and white or sepia filter, and adjusting color balance to make the representation as true to life as possible.
